Some records don’t fade with time.

They just wait for someone to hear them again.

Modal Sounds is a new record label, based in Hong Kong, and born from a love of analog formats, overlooked brilliance, and long-forgotten sound. Our first project brings us into collaboration with Vistas Fijas, a little-known group from Mexico who released a short, haunting EP in 1985 that nearly disappeared into obscurity.

That record, quietly pressed on a 7-inch (spinning at 33 RPM!), slipped through the cracks of history. But it never stopped resonating… at least, not for us.

We’re honored to be working with members of the original group on something new. Or rather, something newly rediscovered.
